Vicki and Glenn Baker of Tennessee carrying
our awesome Fringefolk banner during the march to the Capitol.
I had an insanely heavy bag with me filled with flyers, buttons
and bumper stickers, so I kept handing my end of the banner
off to different people. At one point a gentleman from the
local Steel Workers union (they joined us in the middle of
the march) held one end.

When we arrived at the Capitol, I set up at
one end of the steps to sign up new Fringefolk. After one
of the policemen came by to tell me I couldn't attach our
banner to the wall, I tucked all the tape behind the banner
and propped it up with bamboo poles. In this photo, the policeman
is telling me once again that I can't "attach" anything
to the wall. I poked the bamboo poles and said "No, see?
The bamboo's holding it up!" He wasn't the least bit
fooled, but must've been secretly on our side because he didn't
argue. I thanked him and Gina Record gave him a big thumbs-up |

The march itself! I'm sure I'm not the only
one who still has blisters, but it was so inspiring to march
along with my fellow patriots. |

Outside the motel Sunday morning - Lisa Vigliarolo
of New York, Carol & Don Schiffler of Florida, and Dana
Moore of Alabama. We were exhausted, but still excited! |

Early birds - outside Lafayette Park at about
9 a.m. Saturday. LOTS of honking for Voter rights! |

Joe Forgy of Texas during the march - one of
the people I was so happy to finally meet in person! Joe's
holding a sign-sized version of one of the graphics from his
mailing
labels. |

Gina Record, one of the few people at the march
that I'd met before (we both flew out from California), holding
the printed version of the Fringefolk directory. Gina signed
up a bunch of new fringefolk before flying home Saturday evening,
then went to Venice Beach the next day to sign up a few more! |

This is me, sitting on the west Capitol steps
and being interviewed by an independent journalist (I've forgotten
her name) just after the march. |

Me and my seven minutes of fame! I had a blast
giving my speech in Lafayette Park. The fellow on my right
is Voter March coordinator extraordinaire Lou Posner. My speech
seemed to go over very well, but then, with the fantastic
audience I had, I probably could've just stood there and said
'Bush is a doody-head' and gotten a standing ovation. |

"And I'd like to read you a quote...if
I can find it..."
- proof that it's always a good idea to SLEEP the night before
speaking publicly! |
